WEDNESDAY NIGHTS - FUEL: Energy for Life
What is FUEL?
FUEL is our midweek gathering for students to get renergized with worship, biblical teaching, and encouragement from friends. We usually have a certain series of messages/discussions that covers several weeks at a time. All topics, though, tend to fall within the realm of these seven objectives for spiritual growth.
1. Authentic Faith - That students’ faith in Christ would be genuine.
2. Biblical Morals & Purity - That students’ sense of morality would biblically based.
3. Spiritual Disciplines - That students would embrace and practice good spiritual habits.
4. Healthy Relationships - That students would develop and maintain edifying friendships.
5. Wisdom in Decision Making - That students would learn to use wisdom in decision-making.
6. Selflessness in Service - That students would reach out to serve and minister to others.
7. Respect for God’s Authority - That students would honor God-created roles of authority.
Current Series for Middle School & High School"Who is Jesus?"
March 26 - May 7
We all have them ... those beasts within ... the ones that raise their ugly heads every now and then and make like difficult. These beasts are difficult to control, hard to manage, and often take us off guard. However, these beasts must be tamed if we're to honor God with our lives. We must take up arms daily, fight them with all we have.
What are these "beasts within?" They are:
Anger (3/26) - We must battle this beast with understanding, patience, and self-control.
Fear (4/2) - We must battle this beast with trust and confidence.
Worry (4/16) - We must battle this beast with peace, patience, and confidence.
Doubt (4/23) - We must battle this beast with faith and understanding.
Envy (4/30) - We must battle this beast with contentedness and satisfaction.
Pride (5/07) - We must battle this beast with humility, honesty, and integrity.
MERGE: Friends for Life
We work hard to help students develop
encouraging, heatlhy friendships with other Christians in Student Life;
to help them MERGE their lives with others to know and be known. Our
small groups network becomes especially important as the size of our
youth group continues to grow. Every student is cared for by a loving,
commited adult–our small group leaders.
On Wednesday nights, each small group is generally formed according to
grade and gender, especially for Middle Schoolers. Some of our grades
have multiple groups simply to keep their experience personal and
intimate. At the High School level, we sometimes MERGE grades and
genders at various times for different purposes.
Someday, we're hoping to provide small group opportunities at other
times of the week for those who can't make it on Wedneday nights or for
those who
just want to go deeper.
